Our Identity and Roots

Our story is written in Sele near Slovenj Gradec, on the very land farmed by our ancestors since the era of Empress Maria Theresa. Back then, farm work was a hard struggle for family survival. Today, several generations later, we cultivate the exact same land with a completely different vision. We have woven tradition and respect for the past with modern knowledge to create the Florjan Organic Boutique Farm. We have become a place where nature dictates the rhythm, and we respectfully listen and support it.

Our Philosophy

Pure, untouched, and crafted with love. Here, you will find no shortcuts, no artificial fertilizers, and no chemical sprays. Our approach is based on perfect harmony with nature:

• Native Meadows: The meadows we use are entirely unfertilized. By doing so, we preserve their natural biodiversity and health. We mow them only twice a year, strictly respecting the natural life cycle of both animals and plants.
• Natural Protection:We strengthen our plants exclusively with homemade nettle and sage remedies, while cultivating the soil by hand and with the utmost care.
• SCareful Fertilization and Irrigation: We fertilize our plants exclusively by hand, using only organic pelleted horse manure. For irrigation, we use clean, collected rainwaterproviding our plants with a completely natural source of life.
• Official Certificate: That we are doing things right is proven by our official organic certificate from the Institute KON-CERT Maribor, which regularly verifies our commitment to the highest quality.

The Diversity of Our Orchard

Our organic orchard is thoughtfully planned and offers a diverse palette of rich, full-bodied flavors. We are fully aware that the finest fruit grows only when given optimal conditions. Here, we grow:

• Several varieties of fragrant, refreshing mint, along with juicy homegrown raspberries and blackberries.
• Honeyberries and blackcurrants, renowned for their high antioxidant content.
• Vibrant orange Hokkaido pumpkins and traditional high-graft fruit of heirloom varieties, giving our estate that signature, homegrown character.
